My first Operngala “Heiteres aus Oper und Operette”

“Why the baritone Luis Gehrmann (25), born in Erbach, gave up his first career path as a business informatics specialist — no one asked that anymore after his first appearance on the concert hall stage.”

~translated from Gelnhäuser Neue Zeitung by Elsbeth Ziegler

On December 28, 2024, I had the great honor of performing in an opera gala concert at the Konzerthalle Bad Orb, alongside tenor Jean Philipp Chey, mezzo-soprano Lena Heun, and soprano Carol Arruda.

We were accompanied by pianist and organizer Wolfgang Runkel, and the renowned HR2 presenter Christiane Hillebrand skillfully guided the audience through the evening. A special thanks goes to the choir of the Bad Orb Opera Academy, whose presence truly completed the ensemble.

I had the pleasure of presenting solo arias from Figaro, Leporello, and Papageno, as well as duets and ensembles from La Traviata, Così fan tutte, The Magic Flute, and Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.

Bad Orb and its concert hall are simply beautiful, and the audience was equally inspiring. It was a true privilege to give my first opera gala performance in such a setting.

I look forward to many more opera concerts to come!
